Abstract
Integrating quantum resources into HPC workflows is complicated by two layers of fragmentation: quantum hardware vendors expose incompatible APIs, and HPC centers run diverse job schedulers.
QRMI, an open-source project developed by a growing community of 15 national laboratories, institutions and quantum vendors, addresses both by exposing quantum resources as first-class schedulable resources alongside CPUs and GPUs, independent of vendor or scheduler.
This hands-on tutorial has three modules, one per scheduling environment. Participants submit real jobs to cloud quantum providers including IBM, Pasqal and Alice & Bob.
Modules
- Batch schedulers: Slurm, PBS, IBM LSF and Open Cluster Scheduler
- Kubernetes: For AI workloads
- Flux Framework
